Event Details

A concert of commemoration and remembrance to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice at the end of the First World War 1918.

The concert will include marches and concert works from the Military Band repertoire that have become well-known for their uplifting and emotional content. Army, Navy and Air Force are all represented in a concert packed full of musical highlights.  Programme includes Nimrod Elgar, Hymn to the Fallen John Williams, Dam Busters Eric Coates. Also in the programme is a new concert march ‘Armistice November 1918’ written by local musician Matthew Bowditch who is a current member of the Band of the Royal Marines.

A donation from the proceeds of this concert will be given to the Poppy Appeal
