Event Details
Born in Israel, Eylam Keshet is an international artist displaying the utmost sensitivity and creativity in his enchanting performances. He has previously appeared at St James alongside pianists Dongwon Lee and Tom Hicks in an evening of piano duos and duets. For his first solo recital, he presents an all-Chopin programme that explores a whole spectrum of different characters and emotions through Chopin’s Nocturnes (Op. 55), Mazurkas (Op. 24, 33, and 63), and all four Ballades.
The Ballades are thought to be some of the most important and challenging pieces in the repertoire, partly because each one is so different from the last. They take us on a journey of what the piano can do, what it can say, and, in the hands of such a formidable artist, this is sure to be a concert not to be missed.
Eylam will work with local students in the afternoon workshop (4:45pm) and all are welcome to attend.
